Cape Race Cultural Adventures

In Newfoundland’s salty capital of St. John’s, pick up the keys to a car and three charming coastal houses that will be your home for the next 10 days. Cape Race Adventures has created a unique concept that allows you an unscripted vacation while offering a shortcut to experiencing the province’s most delightful attraction – its people.

You are also given your own personalized guidebook based on a questionnaire you filled out. It suggests shops to buy groceries and points you in the direction of places of interest and fun. Then you are on your own with no scheduled activities, living like a local and exploring your new backyard.

Your first three nights are spent in a St. John’s neighbourhood near the lively street life, shops and restaurants of downtown. Then drive towards your next home in tiny Heart’s Delight, a relaxing return to simpler times. Your third house is in the bustling fishing village of Bonavista.

No itinerary means you can say "yes" to a neighbour’s "kitchen party" invitation or drop in at the local pub to discover a fiddling jam in the works. A fisherman you meet on the local dock might offer you a chance to buy their fresh catch.

Your guidebook tells you about nearby biking and kayaking routes and coastal hiking trails with views of icebergs and puffins. What it doesn’t have to tell you is how to create your own unique experiences and the precious memories you take home with you.

We've put together copy, images and even video to help you market and sell this extra-ordinary experience. Look inside the media package for assets. The content is accessible, and it's free. Make it easy. Use the help guide for step-by-step instructions on how to download the media package.
