Destination Canada is looking for a well-rounded digital marketing professional with great problem solving and analytical skills to join its E-Marketing team as an Online Marketing Specialist.

You have extensive digital marketing knowledge and a solid understanding of web application development as well as online campaign analytics and optimization. Operating in an environment of continuous change, you’ll plan, manage and support stakeholders on a wide range of digital marketing campaigns.

Position Title: Online Marketing Specialist

Language Requirements: English Essential

Duties: Using expert knowledge in all facets of digital marketing, the Online Marketing Specialist will lead the development and enhancements of Destination Canada’s (“DC”) websites. The incumbent will contribute to the development and optimization of integrated cross-channel media plans and work closely with DC vendors and in-market team to analyze the performance of our content across channels (owned, earned, paid).


Education: Degree from a recognized university in marketing or communications, or technology program, or combination of training and experience acceptable to DC.

Experience: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:

  • 3 years of experience in developing digital media plans.
  • Experience in managing digital campaigns, preferably with a re-marketing component.
  • Experience managing the development and/or enhancement of a website.
  • Experience in using Google Analytics and social analytics.
  • Experience in project management.


  • Knowledge of best practices to develop customer-centric effective cross-device websites, from discovery phase to deployment and on-going maintenance.
  • Knowledge of content marketing principles and amplification across channels (native advertising on social or content discovery platforms, paid search, organic search, programmatic, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience using web and social analytics to measure content performance as well as knowledge analyzing integrated paid media performance reports.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the latest tourism industry trends and Canadian tourism industry, challenges and opportunities is an asset.


  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to determine client needs, recommend solutions and resolve issues timely.
