Marketing Account Specialist, US Leisure Market


We’re looking for two Marketing Account Specialists to join our US Leisure Market team.

Experienced in delivering innovative digital marketing campaigns, you will be a vital member of the team leading a campaign to promote Canada as a premier tourism destination in the U.S. You’ll take on project planning and coordination, working closely with the US Leisure Market team, our partners and agencies.

Position Title: Marketing Account Specialist, US Leisure Market

Language Requirements: English essential

Duties: Reporting to the Marketing Manager, US Leisure Market (the “Manager”) the incumbent is the key liaison to the industry partners invested in the US campaign activities. The role supports the development, implementation and evaluation of the integrated multi-channel marketing and sales programs for the US leisure travel market programs and activities by coordinating efforts with the team and partners.  Key duties include marketing planning and coordination support for trade/sales initiatives and supporting content marketing activities aligned with the strategy, reviewing project dashboards as well as coordinating key projects as directed by the Manager.

Education: Degree from a recognized university in marketing, communications or business administration, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Experience:  When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing
  • Minimum  of 3 years of experience in delivering marketing campaigns to consumers and/or travel trade
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in the tourism industry is an asset

Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of various software packages including MS Office Suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of marketing, promotions and media buying practices
  • Understanding of content marketing and communication channels
  • Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design ,media buying and performance measurement
  • Knowledge of project management and planning including financial and administrative management
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing and technology trends an asset
  • Knowledge of the travel industry in global markets, particularly the US, is an asset
