Position Title: Financial Officer

Language Requirements: English Essential

Duties:

Management and coordination of day to day budgeting, financial and related project monitoring, supporting and reporting for budgets for Global Marketing, Global Communications, Youth Travel Program, United States (“Connecting America” initiative), Research – reporting to ED Financial Operations in consultation with EDs accountable for these program/cost centers.

The incumbent supports decisions, makes financial control recommendations and provides related financial guidance and procedural guidance to the identified EDs and/or VPs.

The incumbent also acts as “back-up” for Financial Officer, Emerging Markets responsible for budgets for Americas (Brazil and Mexico) and Asia (S. Korea, Japan and India).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from a recognized university or college with a professional accounting designation or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience. Accounting designation or working towards an accounting designation is an asset.

Experience: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:

  • Experience in managing and administering the delivery of financial services
  • Experience in monitoring, supporting and tracking program and project budgets such as conducting variances, processing invoices and forecasting
  • Experience in managing multiple initiatives/activities simultaneously
  • Experience in preparing and editing information products and reports
  • Significant experience in using Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles, budgeting and forecast preparation and trend analysis
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures in the areas of finance, procurement and contracting
  • Knowledge of purchase requisitions and methods and practices used in records management and maintaining filing systems
