Content Marketing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate individual to join the Destination Canada team as a Content Marketing Specialist.

An excellent communicator, you can hone in on the unique qualities of different markets and audiences to get the message across. You will work with various teams across the globe to implement and align our editorial strategy and voice. You are a great writer who is completely comfortable using social media and website content management systems. Position Title: Content Marketing Specialist

Language Requirements: English Essential

Duties: Reporting to the Managing Editor (the “Manager”), the incumbent is responsible for coordinating Destination Canada’s (DC’s) content marketing efforts with its in-market teams across the globe. The role supports the development and social media promotion and curation of owned, earned and paid content for all markets with a social media and editorial presence (including the UK, Germany, Japan, France, India, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil and Australia).  Key duties include strengthening relationships with our in-market cultivators, increasing content alignment across our global team, and managing global social content development projects. The role will also involve regular writing, social media management, and project management.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education: The position requires at a minimum the graduation from a recognized university, or specialized community college training in marketing, communications or business administration, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Experience: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing
  • Minimum of 2 years in delivering social media management for a brand
  • Experience copywriting and editing in a professional context
  • Experience planning and coordinating content marketing focused projects
  • Experience providing social media training and/or coaching an asset
  • Experience in the tourism industry is an asset

Knowledge:

  • Excellent understanding of content marketing and communication channels
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and advertising models
  • Knowledge of various software packages including MS Office Suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sysomos) and Content Management Systems (Wordpress, Drupal)
  • Knowledge of website publishing, and website functionality an asset
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing and technology trends an asset
  • Knowledge of the travel industry in global markets an asset
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with multiple languages and cultures an asset
