That’s a pretty broad question. I’m not sure whether or not you’re looking to attract more businesses, more domestic visitors or more international travellers. So my answer will have to be with a similarly broad brush.
Your first stop should be to contact your local tourism authority; in this case, that’s Tourism North Manitoba. Next stop: Travel Manitoba, your provincial tourism organization, which is also a great place to go for advice. There is also a list of local conferences and workshops to boost your knowledge, along with research and market intelligence studies.
The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)’s own website has plenty of great material (though I say it myself) for you to read up on as well. Best place to start would be the Resources section for toolkits, info on Canada’s tourism brand, Explorer Quotient®and more.
That’s a lot to start with. Let me know how you get on, and best of luck.
