CTC’s international travel marketplace lets buyers from around the world meet a host of Canadian tourism operators.
The countdown to Rendez-vous Canada 2011 is underway. The 35th iteration of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)’s premier international tourism marketplace takes place this year surrounded by the charms of Québec City, QC, from May 15 to 18.
Buyers and sellers can now start making their appointments online to ensure that they see key clients. But don’t hang around: all requests must be in by April 4 and those 12-minute, speed-dating style slots fill up fast.
There’s still time and space, too, for more buyers and sellers to book their places at the Québec City Convention Centre. An unprecedented 55 buyers from China have already signed up, along with 20 from our India and Brazil markets. Other international buyers who have already got their spots warm include tour operators, wholesalers and package agents from Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and North America. They’ll be meeting Canadian sellers from a broad range of small- to medium-size tourism businesses.
After listening to feedback from last year’s attendees, we’ve tweaked the RVC format. Attendees can get the skinny on the latest CTC research and marketing programs, as well as industry trends and tourism issues at a dedicated educational session on May 15, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Activities now run for three days (not three and a half); the set-up is better, with everything taking place on one main floor; and we’ve implemented a sustainability initiative to ensure RVC is more eco-friendly each year.
As usual, RVC is chock-a-block with opportunities for relationship-building and networking, from the opening reception on May 15 and luncheons hosted by CTC, Parks Canada, Travel Manitoba and Tourism Winnipeg to the wrap-up reception on May 18, hosted by 2012’s RVC host, Edmonton Tourism.
