Calendars at the ready for industry reps—Showcases in Brazil and Asia plus Mexico events are coming up soon.
23 May 2013
There’s no rest in the global tourism arena. The next must-haves for Canadian tourism industry key players and their international buyers are places at the next set of Canadian Tourism Commission(CTC)’s popular international tradeshows. Registration for buyers is now live for all three.
BlackBerrys, iPhones and Android devices at the ready; here’s the skinny:
Showcase Canada-Brazil is the first item on the wish list. The showcase takes place again at the Tivoli Mofarrej Hotel in São Paulo, Aug. 19-20, and has a packed agenda. A detailed market briefing gets the ball rolling to bring Canadian sellers up to speed on Brazil. That’s followed by the marketplace itself, a series of one-to-one appointments between those sellers and local Brazilian buyers. Brazil is an emerging market for Canada and a growing global powerhouse; the Showcase offers Canadian industry a chance for the inside track and a way to boost awareness, engagement and sales with an eager set of consumers. Registration for buyers and sellers closes Aug. 16.
Conozca Canadá (Aug. 26) and GoMedia Mexico (Aug. 27) are two more summer highlights on CTC’s 2013 international calendar. Mexico City plays host to both the trade and media events. Conozca is built around 45-minute workshops during which Canadian provincial and destination industry reps give Mexican tour operators the latest market news plus special offers and updates on tourism products. GoMedia Mexico is the go-to event for Mexican editors and journalists, plus radio and TV producers, who want the freshest inspiration and story ideas during quickfire one-to-one appointments. This year, there will be workshops and special conferences for Mexican media and Canadian reps. Registration for buyers, sellers and media ends July 12.
Showcase Canada-Asia will fly the flag for Canada at the Sheraton Hangzhou, China, Oct. 14-18. CTC’s largest event outside Canada, it’s a huge gathering of buyers from China, India, Japan and South Korea and presents a unique opportunity for Canadian industry attendees. CTC reps will begin an all-day briefing by bringing sellers up to speed on these four Asian markets. Then India, Japan and South Korea take over for the first two days in a combined marketplace before China grabs centre stage for the final two days. Registration for sellers ends Aug. 30; registration for buyers runs from July 31 to Aug. 30.
