It’s time for industry reps to get out their diaries, with showcases in Brazil and Asia plus Mexico events on the agenda.

It’s time to hit the road again. Registration is now open for the next series of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)’s popular international tradeshows.
Fingers on the keyboards please, everyone:
Showcase Canada-Brazil is first out of the blocks. This year, the event will take place at the Tivoli Mofarrej Hotel in São Paulo, Aug. 20-21. It kicks off with an in-depth market briefing followed by a marketplace comprising speed-dating-style appointments between Canadian sellers and local buyers. Brazil is a fast-growing global economy with rich potential, so this event offers a splendid opportunity to raise further awareness of Canadian travel experiences. Registration for buyers and sellers closes Aug. 10.
Conozca Canadá (Sept. 11-12) and GoMedia Mexico (Sept. 13) are the meat in this Showcase sandwich, both taking place in Mexico City. Conozca is CTC’s premier trade event in this market. This year has a different format: Canadian provincial and territorial reps have a series of 45-minute workshops with Mexican tour operators to go over the latest market info as well as offers and product updates. Mexican media have an ever-increasing appetite for up-to-date info on leading Canadian tourism experiences. GoMedia Mexico brings together Canadian tourism partners with local editors and journalists as well as radio and TV producers. Again, the appointments have a speed-dating format. Local media are guaranteed to walk away with inspiration and instant story ideas. Registration for both events is due to go live in July; check each website closer to the time for updates.
Showcase Canada-Asia will take pride of place at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, Japan, Oct. 15-19. The largest trade event of its kind outside Canada, it brings together Canadian sellers with buyers from China, India, Japan and South Korea all under one roof. The event starts with a day-long market briefing session on all four of CTC’s Asian markets. A combined Japan-South Korea marketplace takes over for two days before the event closes with a China-India combo over the last two days. Registration for sellers ends July 31; registration for buyers runs early July to Aug. 31.
