With 5,000-plus images and videos, our library is an invaluable media resource. Now it’s easier to use, too.
Journalists can sometimes struggle for an image or clip to accompany their purple Canadian prose; but no longer. The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has just rolled out its new Brand Canada Library.
There are now more than 5,000 fantastic videos and images of Canadian travel experiences in our database for qualified media peeps or outlets to use. The best part is that they are all rights-ready and free to use. Every user, new or old, needs a new account, but registration is quick and easy.
We’ve cleared out all the old, dusty material; now CTC’s new content, shot from coast to coast to coast in Canada, is to the fore and will show up at the top of search results. The library’s layout is simpler, clearer and more intuitive, and the taxonomy is simpler, too. Users can effectively narrow their searches through a variety of filters: keyword, geographic region, number of items, thumbnails, date or size. There’s also an easy video preview option, too.
Some examples: after an initial search for outdoor destinations, then drill down to skiing/snowboarding; from BC, search further for nightlife; from whale-watching, dig deeper for summer. Add multiple choices to a lightbox, from there select all the files required and complete the download request form. To download an individual pic or video, simply click the download button and select “request to download.”
CTC’s Signature Experiences Collection® (SEC) is there in all its finery. Its content is tagged by operator names and SEC as a whole to make it easy to find.
