New CTC spring campaign encourages high-yield Mexican travellers to head north for travel.
There are the beginnings of quiet optimism returning to the Mexico market.
The latest figures from Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)’s Tourism Snapshot for December 2010 showed a 27% year-on-year boost in visitor numbers—a very encouraging rebound. Now CTC is building on that upward momentum with a spring campaign in partnership with Air Canada.
New direct services from Mexico City to Montréal, QC, Toronto, ON, and Vancouver, BC, form the campaign’s basis. There are special deals to encourage Mexican consumers to pack their bags and head north over the next months. It’s not just confined to these urban centres: there are add-on options to take Mexican travellers to other Canadian destinations.
The campaign is driven by online, print and radio advertising in publications and sites including La Reforma, Prodigy, TripAdvisor, Yahoo and Despegar. Expectations are to build awareness of great Canadian experiences in consumer minds.
