Registration is now open for events in Brazil, Mexico and South Korea.
It’s time to get your calendars out. The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has three major international tourism marketplaces coming up and registration is now open for all three.
First up is Showcase Canada Brazil, Aug. 31–Sept. 1 in São Paulo, Brazil. Taking place at the Renaissance Sao Paulo Hotel, it’s the best place for Canadian suppliers to meet Brazilian buyers and media via one-to-one appointments and social networking events. More than 50 buyers from the world’s seventh-largest economy and rapidly emerging tourism market are expected to attend.
We head back to the northern hemisphere for Conozca Canadá in Mexico, Sept. 22–25. Conozca will take place in conjunction with FITA 2011 (la Feria Internacional de Turismo de las Américas). The venue is the ExpoBancomer Santa Fe convention facility in Mexico City, where Canadian sellers can meet both Mexican and international buyers attending FITA. For Canadian provincial and destination marketers, there’s the added bonus of going to GoMedia México 2011 on Sept. 24.
Rounding out 2011 in style, we head for South Korea (Busan, to be precise) for Showcase Canada-Asia, Oct. 13–20. This bumper marketplace brings together Canadian sellers and buyers from China, India, Japan and South Korea. It follows the tried-and-true format, blending pre-scheduled one-to-one appointments with networking events. It’s one not to miss for anyone with ties to Asia: Canadian sellers averaged 135 one-on-one appointments at last year’s event.
