Major Parisian annual tradeshow and charity race help give Canada a higher profile in French capital.

Flying the flag: the French office of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) was joined by 15 industry partners at the Canada booth during IFTM—Top Resa Sept. 23-26.
The annual tradeshow in Paris had its 35th iteration; to help give it a Canadian flavour, Air Canada sponsored the main lounge, with two daily draws for tickets to attend Québéçois Alain Choquette’s magic show in Paris. Pierre Faucher from Sucrerie de la Montagne, a Canadian Signature Experience, cooked up a storm each day at the booth with his maple-syrup pancakes and Canada was a diamond sponsor for the Travel Agent Cup. French travel agents also took part in daily training sessions at the Canada booth.
Keep on running: CTC-France assembled a Canada team to take part in La Parisienne Sept. 14, an annual charity race in Paris to raise funds for breast-cancer research. Thirty-seven runners, drawn from the CTC team, product managers, Canada Specialist Program agents and airlines, had five practices—and networking dinners—to prepare for the big race. Air Transat was a partner on the day itself, offering two tickets to Montréal, QC, in a prize draw.
