Get up to speed with CTC key markets at RVC.

CTC’s international marketplace will get underway with market outlook sessions for sellers and buyers.

Rendez-vous Canada 2011, the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)’s top-of-the-range international tourism marketplace, is just around the corner. This 35th iteration will unfold at the Québec City Convention Centre in Québec City, QC, from May 15 to 18. This year we’ll be lighting the blue touch paper on May 15 in the afternoon with our market outlook sessions.

The marketplace has a truly global feel this year, with 55 buyers jetting in from China as well as 20 from our India and Brazil markets. These market sessions will bring the latest intelligence from CTC’s key international markets, led by panels of CTC staff and other local industry pros. Ideal for buyers and sellers alike, space is limited at each one, so RVC [at] ctc-cct [dot] ca (don’t delay signing up).

Here’s the timetable:

2-3 pm: A new collection is here
Join CTC as we unveil a new program that will help show the world Canada’s tourism brand and the extraordinary range of experiences our country has to offer to travellers.

3-4 pm: Core Markets—what makes them tick?
Led by Rupert Peters, CTC regional managing director, Core Markets, a panel of industry experts takes a look at the marketplaces in France, Germany, the UK and Australia.

3-4 pm: Japan, the way forwardthe road for recovery
A panel of industry pros and CTC staff take a look at the outlook for tourism in the world’s third-largest economy after the Tohoku earthquake on March 11. Moderated by Maureen Riley, CTC general manager, Japan.

4-5 pm: Emerging Markets—find out what sets them apart
Hosted by Siobhan Chretien, CTC regional managing director, Emerging Markets, this panel of industry experts examines the marketplaces of Brazil, Japan, Mexico and South Korea and what tour operators there are looking for.

4-5 pm: China and India—the emerging giants
Learn more about these two massive economies and what they mean for travel and tourism.
