André Joannette, CPA, acts as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice-President, Finance & Operations for the Destination Canada. Mr. Joannette’s previous role was as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Director General of Resource Management at the Canada Border Services Agency, where he led several successful projects, including the development of an approved funded five-year capital plan and resource allocation exercise.
Mr. Joannette has a strong financial background in the federal public service, having worked in senior roles at Veterans Affairs Canada and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Prior to joining the federal public service, he served for 16 years in a broad spectrum of functions in the private sector in both profit and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Joannette holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa and has been an accredited member of the Order of Chartered Accountants of Québec since 1993. He has been an active member of the Deputy Chief Financial Officers (DCFO) Council since 2005, most recently serving as the Chair since 2012.
