Fourth version held during IMEX 2014 in Germany.
May 27, 2014: Business Events Canada (BEC) the division of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) responsible for bringing meetings, conventions and incentive programs to Canada, hosted the fourth version of its Annual Vision Awards on Tuesday 20th May during IMEX 2014. During a regal evening to praise innovation and partnerships in promoting Canada, BEC honoured international clients and media who share a common vision "To inspire the world to explore Canada". Awarded clients included:
The Vision Award for ‘Customer of the Year’ was given to International Confederation of Midwives. An outstanding ambassador for Toronto and the support given by Tourism Toronto to ICM. The city is set to host the ICM 2017 World Congress with an expected attendance of 4,000 delegates.
The Vision Award for ‘Partner Organization of the Year’ was presented to Trinity Conferences. Showing a strong support to Business Events Canada and continuously pitching the destination to their clients the company secured the Hogan Lovell conference 2014 with an attendance of 1,000 delegates.
Michele Saran, Executive Director, Business Events Canada commented: “We are delighted to host the Annual Vision Awards. This special evening is a great way to honour our partners who have shown their continuous support and become Ambassadors for the Country. It is a great way for us to showcase to the meetings and incentives industry the achievements we have had as a result of building on these fantastic partnerships.”
Emma Cashmore, Managing Director of Axis Travel Marketing, the office responsible for MICE development for BEC, commented: “the level of entries was outstanding, and is a true testament of the marketing efforts conducted within the UK and Europe. As we go into our 5th year of running these awards, we hope to see the benchmark raised even more”.
